After undergoing controlled burns since 2005, the Longleaf Pine Forest continues to regenerate.
In May 2007, naturalist Fred Nation and Dr. Harry Larsen, retired professor at Auburn University's School of Foresty, performed an evaluation of the 27-acre site.
